Last week I met with my favourite RHF colleague Elayne - from the Luberon area -in Antibes. I hadn’t been there for a while and forgot how great it was! City-like feel, combined with that authentic South of France look and smell. We were having lunch close to the sea and the marina, on a terrace in the sun, and had a terrific warm-chèvre-with-honey salad for her and a mozza for me -and a glass of rosé of course (this is France remember - it’s what we do…) while we did our shop-talk… Afterwards we had some time left to go to the English bookshop in the centre (Elayne’s real reason behind wanting to meet up in Antibes). Antibes is pretty English-oriented, I guess also because of all the boat people that are there - Antibes has a famous old port, the Port Vauban, which also hosts the “Voiles d’Antibes” next week. I’ll come back to that one as I am part of the RHF-crew sailing on one of the beautiful classics Adria!! (here in rest - but wait until she’s racing…)Anyway - Antibes is more than worth a visit, a beautiful old town with its fortifications along the coast, tiny streets with shops selling all sorts of curiosa, terraces, an Irish pub with long happy hours and a fantastic “antiques” market. And if you’d like to stay longer, or even permanently, look us up - we have great houses for sale in Antibes!

Located in a stunning area with a farmhouse, this gorgeous mill will captivate you due to it’s stone restoration done in good taste(280m2). Better yet, handsome elements of the mill have either been excellently preserved or put into value; if walls could talk, this mill would tell you a thousand tales. The millstone located in the living/reception room will delight guests who could visit the property and still conserve their privacy by staying in the gite attached to the west of the building. Other property features include the original fireplace and the landscaped garden filled with trees ideal for relaxing strolls up to the property’s pond. The mill’s dam is dry and the building is in good standing condition; the only thing this property needs is either a family or holiday seekers who are looking for a calm area but that is still close to local amenities. The area is also known for it’s Gascogne way of living where conviviality rubs elbows with a certain ‘art de vivre’ and a love for authentic, stone buildlings. No need for any kind of works, however furnishing is needed. An exceptional price for a property bursting with history… More details on www.in2clicks-realestate.com (reference V23512).
